Doomed, boomed, or macarooned?

Luther Burgsvik writes that we are not necessarily doomed to SLOW death because we might be killed HASTILY.


So we might go out with fast BOOM instead of slow DOOM.

Alternatively, Retroculture might allow us to sit around eating macaroons:

I am not very persuaded by Lind’s vision of Retroculture. I suspect his long association with the USA military has warped his view of what is possible. His story is an easy read, and it drew me in, but after I put it down I said to myself, “People don’t ACT like that.”
