Whore Power … or “government of whores”

pornacrates

I have a hazy notion that “porn” means “whore” in Greek, and “kratos” means “power” – but if a Belgian engraver writes “Pornacrates” – does he mean “whore power” or “government by whores”?

The woman is leading a pig on a leash; she is blindfolded, presumably to prevent her from seeing the cupids who might lead her back to love or spirituality.

Here is the guy who made the engraving:

Note that he has little side-notes saying “sculpture,” “music,” and “poetry,” so presumably he is talking about whores running the art world, not whores running society in general. On the other hand, he made this print in 1896. If he were around today and making prints, he might call the political leaders “whores” as well.
