USA claims its Syrian bombing was an accident while God Module sings of Congressional subpoenas

For the United States, it was just the latest in a series of mostly unsuccessful attempts to field a Syrian Arab proxy force against Islamic State. Even after the conspicuous failure of other U.S.-trained units, the United States seems no closer to figuring out how to get Syria’s rebels to fight America’s war.

…the CIA was training these jihadists to be fighting ISIS in order to have an excuse for being there actually to overthrow and replace Assad — «lend some revolutionary legitimacy to what might otherwise seem like a creation of the Pentagon».

Possibly to cover its embarrassment, the USA dropped bombs:

On Saturday, two F-16 fighter jets and two A-10 ground attack aircraft entered Syrian airspace without authorization from the Syrian government. They bombed positions of the Syrian Army near Deir ez-Zor, leaving at least 62 personnel killed.

Later, the US Central Command acknowledged responsibility for the attack but claimed that the attack was an accident, with the intended target being Daesh militants.

Still with me, O nobly born reader? I won’t bother linking the LiveLeak video, so here is a little music from God Module to keep you company while you scan the headlines:

In a highly unusual move, Rep. Jason Chaffetz served a subpoena to an FBI official for all documents the bureau has gathered during the course of the investigation into Hillary Clinton’s email server in the middle of a committee hearing.

The nearly unprecedented action reflects a growing frustration by the Oversight Committee with the FBI over what they see as a lack of cooperation in investigating the decision made by Director Comey in not indicting Clinton.

It is not clear whether there is any punishment for ignoring a subpoena from Congress.

Israel has 200 nuclear weapons “all targeted on Tehran,” so Iran would not dare use a bomb even if it could make one, former Secretary of State Colin Powell said in a 2015 email, which has surfaced this week as part of a hacking scandal.

Israeli Jewish Rabbi Shlomo Mlma asked on Sunday Israeli Jewish settlers to poison Palestinian water resources in order to kill them.

Mlma, the chairman of the Council of Rabbis in the West Bank settlements, asked the settlers to do so in order to cleans the Palestinians from the West Bank cities and villages.

According to Israeli anti-occupation organisation “Breaking the Silence,” the rabbi wanted the Israeli Jewish settlers to push the Palestinians to leave their villages and pave the way for settlers to take over their lands.

Dozens of similar orders were made by rabbis that called for killing Palestinians, robbing their lands and farmlands and destroying their property.

Reports of an explosion in the Chelsea neighborhood of Manhattan came through social media just before 8:30pm. The explosion has been confirmed by the New York Fire Department.

On Saturday, a massive explosion rattled the Chelsea area of Manhattan. People reported hearing the large blast on social media with the New York Fire Department subsequently confirming that an explosion had occurred. New York City issued an emergency alert telling people to expect traffic delays in the area. At least 25 people have gotten light injuries, according to the New York Fire Department. At least three people were hospitalized.

A man was killed and about two dozen people were driven from their home in a string of fires set within blocks of each other in the Heart of Chicago neighborhood early Friday, police and fire officials said.

At least seven separate fires were reported around 3 a.m., apparently set in alley trash cans that spread to garages and at least one home in the South Side neighborhood, according to officials.

This week, Hungary, which has during the past year come under pressure for its handling of Europe’s mass migration crisis, has become the first government to open an office specifically to address the persecution of Christians in the Middle East and Europe.

“Today, Christianity has become the most persecuted religion, where out of five people killed [for] religious reasons, four of them are Christians,” Catholic News Agency (CNA) quoted Hungary’s Minister for Human Resources, Zoltan Balog, as saying. “In 81 countries around the world, Christians are persecuted, and 200 million Christians live in areas where they are discriminated against. Millions of Christian lives are threatened by followers of radical religious ideologies.”
