“A city where the artist would not fear the censor,
where the scientist would not be bound by petty morality,
where the great would not be constrained by the small.
And with the sweat of your brow, Rapture can become your city as well…”

Comment: The various fantasy stories of “Wild West” combat – notably the Bioshock and Fallout videogames – appeal to the decadent man of modern civilization. He is a man, so he wants to fight; he wants to earn recognition by killing foes, or else to go to an early grave. He does not WANT to be the degenerate that he is. And yet he IS a degenerate, so he plays video games instead of struggling against desperate odds for a chance at a better world. In many cases, of course, he might as well give up – if you are 75 years old and childless, you will not get to live in a better world, even if the Banksters all collapse tomorrow. If you are 30 years old and you have a child, you don’t want to take risks – you want to maximize the probability that your child will grow up in a better world, even if you don’t live to see it. And if you are 15, your life probably sucks, and you probably have no realistic hope for a better world – and thus you probably play vidya instead of self-radicalizing your politics.
There are a few havens of freedom, or at least license. If you can survive Somalia, you can live there and enjoy its loose culture. If you like fleshpots, there are places like Macau and Thailand who are happy to take your money (although they will kick you out once your wallet gets empty). But there are few countries that actually have decent Internet connections and decent regard for Western ideas of liberty. Iceland comes to mind. But it’s not easy to visit Iceland, much less immigrate.
The current situation could change if any nouveau-riche billionaire actually succeeds in founding a libertarian country. If the world actually HAD a Galt’s Gulch, then a lot of talented middle-class strivers with a bit of cash tucked under their pillows would be working and planning and striving to secure a spot in Galt’s Gulch – at least a post-office box from which they could run their online businesses…
So because the world has sadly failed to end on schedule, I bring you some deplorable rumblings and some current events:
If you thought ICO announcements were big news, just consider what was announced by Olivier Janssens, founder of Freedom Investments, and Roger Ver, of Bitcoin Foundation fame.
The team, along with a trove of attorneys and other professionals, is seeking to establish its own independent nation, governed by libertarian values, and invites anyone who shares their political views or are just ‘free thinkers’ to join them.
The country, reminiscent of Ayn Rand’s Galtian paradise, is intended to be a place where those who reject governmental controls and seek to maintain libertarian freedoms can gather and promote a truly free society.
The process of purchasing sovereignty over a part of land from another country is not without precedent (for example, the US lease of Guantanamo Bay in Cuba).
There are quite a few proposals for “Galt’s Getaway” style intentional communities. A typical example follows:
Three years ago, the first of us met in Chile and began designing the community of our dreams. It would be an inspiring incubator of imagination and innovation. A breathtaking bastion of unbridled brilliance. A liberating, peaceful, and supportive neighborhood for living, working, and raising families in. It was a tall order and we knew we’d need a whole lot of help to bring it all to life.
We released our plan and concept to the world and started gathering more pioneering spirits to join us. The next step was to find the perfect property to buy and after a year of painstaking exploration, we finally found it.
We had to be careful though. We had to test the soil mechanics, conduct an environmental impact study, and make absolutely certain that nothing was wrong with the property before investing our members’ capital in it. Fortunately, everything checked out and we were able to proceed with the purchase. By that time, we also had the architectural blueprints completed for our residential community center, the first building of the project. With all the legal work and preparation now complete, we’re now proceeding to the first stage of construction, eagerly looking forward to our most exciting year yet.
“It began as just another crazy dream… Now, it’s a hundred-acres of oceanfront real estate in the Valdivian Rainforest.”
There are also a few less practical ideas, such as sea-steading. I have yet to see a practical proof of concept, but there are some rich guys who would like to make it work, and they spend money on boats…
I should also mention another alternative to living as a degenerate. If you are a Mighty Whitey but you can survive Third World accommodations, you can volunteer as a Peace Corps type. You will probably fall in love with the dirt-poor Third Worlders and adopt them as your new family. You might even build a better world. But that will be a world with a lot of cheap food shared equally, and minimal luxury. I’m too much of a wimp to survive the Third World – otherwise I would be there already, trying to get good karma by being nice to poor people.
For the third time in as many weeks Israel has reportedly bombed positions inside Syria. Syrian state media along with multiple regional outlets showed fires burning at a facility near the Damascus international airport in the early hours of Friday. Israeli newspaper Haaretz reports that like with previous attacks, Israel jets fired from over Lebanese airspace. But it appears the latest exchange was part of a tit-for-tat exchange of fire between Syria and Israel in a situation that continues to dangerously escalate.
Multiple reports are circulating that the Israeli attack was initiated after Syria’s aerial defense missile system engaged and fired on an Israeli aircraft in the area.
On occasion of the CIA’s 70th anniversary, Lars Schall talked with U.S. researcher Douglas Valentine about the Central Intelligence Agency. According to Valentine, the CIA is “the organized crime branch of the U.S. government”, doing the dirty business for the rich and powerful.
By Lars Schall
Douglas Valentine is the author of the non-fictional, historical books “The Hotel Tacloban”, “The Phoenix Program”, “The Strength of the Wolf”, “The Strength of the Pack”, and “The CIA as Organized Crime”.
70 years ago, on September 18, 1947, the National Security Act created the Central Intelligence Agency, CIA. Douglas, you refer to the CIA as “the organized crime branch of the U.S. government.” Why so?
Everything the CIA does is illegal, which is why the government provides it with an impenetrable cloak of secrecy. While mythographers in the information industry portray America as a bastion of peace and democracy, CIA officers manage criminal organizations around the world. For example, the CIA hired one of America’s premier drug trafficker in the 1950s and 1960s, Santo Trafficante, to murder Fidel Castro. In exchange, the CIA allowed Trafficante to import tons of narcotics into America. The CIA sets up proprietary arms, shipping, and banking companies to facilitate the criminal drug trafficking organizations that do its dirty work. Mafia money gets mixed up in offshore banks with CIA money, until the two are indistinguishable.
Drug trafficking is just one example.
What is most important to understand about the CIA?
Its organizational history, which, if studied closely enough, reveals how the CIA manages to maintain its secrecy. This is the essential contradiction at the heart of America’s problems: if we were a democracy and if we truly enjoyed free speech, we would be able to study and speak about the CIA. We would confront our institutionalized racism and sadism. But we can’t, and so our history remains unknown, which in turn means we have no idea who we are, as individuals or as a nation. We imagine ourselves to be things we are not. Our leaders know bits and pieces of the truth, but they cease being leaders once they begin to talk about the truly evil things the CIA is doing.
James Damore is a former Google employee that has caused a stir of controversy when he recently complained of Google’s ‘ideological echo chamber’, alleging that women have a lower tolerance for stress and that conservatives are more conscientious. The Chess master studied at Harvard University, Princeton, and MIT. He worked at Google’s Mountain View HG. He was fired after the search giant’s chief executive, Sundar Pichai, said portions of Damore’s 10-page memo, “Violate our code of conduct and cross the line by advancing harmful gender stereotypes”.
The former Google employee has sat down for a YouTube interview with University of Toronto professor of psychology, Jordan Peterson, to discuss the circumstances that lead to the release of James stunning claim. He explains that Google has a hidden agenda, and he noted his memo during a secretive Google ‘Diversity Summit’. He said that presenters talked about potentially illegal practices to try to ‘increase diversity’. In other words, they are treating people differently based on what their race and gender are.
Here is the interview between Peterson and James Damore regarding the secret intentions of google. You can also see the full interview below.
Peterson: “Why did you do this?”
Damore: “About a month and a half ago, I went to one of our diversity summits, all of it unrecorded and super-secret and they told me a lot of things that I thought just were not right.”
Peterson: “Ok, what do you mean ‘unrecorded and super-secret?’”
Damore: “Most meetings at Google are recorded. Anyone at Google can watch it. We’re trying to be really open about everything…except for this. They don’t want any paper trail for any of these things.”
“They were telling us about a lot of these potentially illegal practices that they’ve been doing to try to increase diversity. Basically treating people differently based on what their race or gender are.”
Peterson: “Ok, why?”
Damore: “Because I think it’s illegal. As some of the internal polls showed, there were a large percentage of people who agreed with me on the document. So, if everyone got to see this stuff, then they would really bring up some criticism.”
Damore also talks about how he originally published his memo over a month ago but upper-management largely ignored it until it started to garner media attention. Then, once it went viral, upper management organized a coordinated attack and misrepresented facts in order to silence him.
Damore: “I actually published this document about a month ago; it’s only after it had gone viral and leaked to the news, that Google started caring.”
“There was a lot of upper management that started to call it out and started saying how harmful it is. This sort of viewpoint is not allowed at Google.”
Peterson: “Yeah, what sort of viewpoint exactly? The idea that there are differences between men and women that might actually play a role in the corporate world? That’s an opinion that’s not acceptable?”
Damore: “Yeah, it seems so. And there’s a lot of misrepresentation by upper-management just to silence me, I think.”
On why he was fired:
Peterson: “What was there rationale for firing you exactly? What was the excuse that was given?”
Damore: “So, the official excuse was that I was perpetuating gender stereotypes.”
And finally, an interesting tidbit in which Damore once again points out that Google’s progressives are all too eager to put on their science hats when discussing climate change but are less eager to entertain scientific facts when they’re deemed ‘inconvenient.’
Former Facebook executive says Google, Facebook are ‘surveillance states’ and risk more regulation
Social Capital CEO Chamath Palihapitiya says Facebook and Google are like “surveillance states” and are inviting a government crackdown.
What my experience is today shows the Banks like to play a game with money that is mine before I can draw on the funds. I went into the Bank to deposit a check from my insurance company. The amount of the check they did not refuse to say they would not cash. However, it was enough for them to say there is a nine-day hold before I can withdraw some cash from the bank account.
Money is electronically transferred from the bank to bank everyday between wealthy parties can access the money instantly. That is because most of the currency is digital entries on a computer screen and not the actual Federal Reserve notes in circulation.
Then why must I have to wait for my money for nine days when it can be posted in my account within three business days maximum? I believe this financial institution wants to use my funds in the fractional reserve banking scam by creating money out of nothing ten times based on what I deposited so they can loan it out or use in risky investments since now I am considered an unsecured invester instead of an account holder. Which is not good?
This is why we need to get rid of the Federal Reserve System and most of all for now, and the Dodd and Frank act that corrupted the banks more than ever ripping off their account holders. I do not know why I should have to wait nine business days to withdraw my money when three days is reasonable to wait. However, nine days to wait is very suspicious when that money could be instantly in my account tells me why banks are hated right down there with the US Congress… I know the bank will use that money for their nefarious purposes before I can use it the funds for much needed reasons.
