Prosecutor Admits DC Police Officers Acted As Provocateurs At US Capitol On Jan. 6
A federal prosecutor admitted in court papers that three D.C. Metropolitan Police Department undercover officers acted as provocateurs at the northwest steps of the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021.
The admission came in a March 24 filing before U.S. District Judge Rudolph Contreras that seeks to keep video footage shot by the officers under court seal.
Prosecutors accused the case defendant—William Pope of Topeka, Kansas—of an “illegitimate” attempt to unmask the video as part of his alleged strategy to try the case in the news media. Pope filed a motion to remove the court seal on Feb. 21.
“The defendant is not entitled to ‘undesignate’ these videos to share them with unlimited third parties,” said Assistant U.S. Attorney Kelly Moran. “His desire to try his case in the media rather than in a court of law is illegitimate, and the government has met its burden to show the necessity of the protective order.”
Videos long hidden under court seal have become a major topic, especially with prosecutors disclosing in a number of high-profile Jan. 6 cases the involvement of multiple FBI informants.
Pope is seeking to lift the court seal on the undercover video as part of his drive to obtain full access to video evidence held by the government. Pope is representing himself in the criminal case being prosecuted against him. At a hearing on March 3, Judge Contreras seemed sympathetic to Pope’s motion to unmask the videos.
“The officer clearly incited that area, and we still don’t have video from all other undercover MPD,” Pope told The Epoch Times. “And as the numerous informants in the Proud Boys trial demonstrates, we are only just beginning to scratch the surface on FBI involvement.”
The undercover video—a portion of which posted on Rumble on March 24—shows three members of the MPD’s Electronic Surveillance Unit approach the Capitol’s northwest steps. One of the men, while surveying the crowd, stated, “Someone’s going to get shot.”
Officer 2 replied, “They’re not going to shoot anybody.”
Along the edge of the Capitol property, Officer 2 encouraged one protester to go up to the building. “Go join ‘em then,” he said. The man replied, “No, I’ve got my bike to guard.”
The men engaged in banter on the walk across the west Capitol lawn.
‘Never Seen Anything Like This’
“This is amazing,” Officer 2 said. Officer 1, who was shooting the GoPro video, replied, “Yeah, I’ve never seen anything like this.”
Nearly 30 members of the Electronic Surveillance Unit were assigned to duty on Jan. 6, some of whom were gathering evidence on crowd activity. Members wore special bands on their left wrists to identify themselves as part of the Electronic Surveillance Unit, according to the MPD’s 96-page Jan. 6 action plan.
Officer 1 repeatedly joined in chants of “Drain the swamp!” and “Our house! Our house! Our house!”
A little closer to the Capitol, the video captures a protester shouting, “Joe Biden! We wanna hear you speak, you [expletive] pedophile satanist [expletive]!”
A short time later, Officer 1 joined the crowd in a “USA!” chant, repeating the phrase five times.
At the foot of the northwest stairs, someone leaned part of a bicycle rack against the balustrade. As a protester climbed up the makeshift ladder, Officer 1 shouted, “C’mon, man, let’s go! Leave that sh*t.”

Instead of encouraging us not to be fearful, they tell us to be afraid and scared.
The government, abetted by “experts’ and Fake News, have made us so fearful that we allowed them to lock us in our homes, wrap our faces in useless cloth, deny us church worship, forbade us time with loved ones, destroy a generation of children, and made too many happy to inject poison into their bodies.
This was quickly accomplished by relentlessly driving fear of Covid-CCP into all aspects of our daily lives.

Why do I bring this up? Because there is no signal yet from the Biden Administration whether it will bless these protests as “following the international rules” or condemn Netanyahu as a violator of those rules.

Diplomats joined the general strike over PM Netanyahu’s judicial reform proposal
Multiple Israeli embassies and consulates were closed on Monday, after diplomats and staff joined the general strike in protest over Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s judiciary reform proposal.
“The Embassy of Israel will be closed today until further notice and no consular services will be provided,” Elad Strohmayer, spokesman for the embassy in Washington, tweeted on Monday morning. A tweet in Hebrew on the embassy’s account confirmed his announcement.
Strohmayer explained that the Histadrut, Israel’s largest labor union, “instructed all government employees to go on strike, including Israel’s diplomatic missions around the world.”
Israel’s embassy in France also joined the strike. The embassy in the UK, however, made no announcements on its account, while Ambassador Tzipi Hotovely was tweeting in praise of security and intelligence cooperation with London.
The general strike has already shut down the Ben Gurion international airport in Tel Aviv and much of Israel’s healthcare system. The Histadrut said the unusual measure was intended to “stop the madness” of the proposed judiciary reform.
Netanyahu’s plan to curb the powers of the Supreme Court has been met with widespread indignation. Protests against the measure drew over 600,000 people to the streets of Tel Aviv on Saturday. Asaf Zamir, Israel’s consul general in New York, resigned in protest. Defense Minister Yoav Gallant made a public statement against the reform on Sunday, and was promptly dismissed.
“For the sake of the unity of the people of Israel, for the sake of responsibility, I am calling on you to stop legislation immediately,” President Isaac Herzog urged the government on Sunday night.
Judiciary reform is a key demand of one of Netanyahu’s coalition partners, however. If he withdraws the proposal, the government might lose the Knesset majority, forcing a sixth parliamentary election in five years.

Massive protests over the controversial reform threaten the nation’s security, economy, and society, Isaac Herzog has warned
Israeli President Isaac Herzog urged the government on Sunday night to put the brakes on the divisive judicial overhaul which has sparked months of protests across the country.
His comments came hours after Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu fired his defense minister, Yoav Gallant, who had spoken out against the proposed reform. The move added fuel to the nationwide demonstrations, which were attended by over 600,000 people on Saturday, according to local media reports.
During the latest protests, demonstrators completely blocked the Ayalon Highway in Tel Aviv, while setting bonfires and chanting ‘democracy’. Police used water cannons to disperse the crowd.
Clashes also erupted in Jerusalem as activists broke through the barriers and engaged the police outside Netanyahu’s private residence.
As the protests intensified, Herzog took to Twitter, addressing Netanyahu and the governing coalition. “For the sake of the unity of the people of Israel, for the sake of responsibility, I am calling on you to stop legislation immediately,” he wrote, adding that the protests are threatening Israel’s security, economy, and society.
Former Israeli PM Naftali Bennett also weighed in, stating that the nation “is in greater danger than at any time since the Yom Kippur war,” referring to the 1973 Arab-Israeli conflict. He urged Netanyahu to reverse the dismissal of the defense minister, freeze the judicial overhaul, and “enter a period of discussions.”

A leaked report sheds light on the source of a mysterious media attack on the Serbian president’s political rival.
A pro-government media campaign targeting former Belgrade mayor Dragan Đilas was based on a “global bank scan” report obtained by journalists.
Disinformation group ‘Team Jorge’ was likely behind the report used by the Serbian officials.
‘Team Jorge’ leader Tal Hanan has previously been investigated for selling forged financial intelligence to a Swiss spy for $88,000.
As Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić embarked on an official visit to the United Arab Emirates in March 2021, he was under scrutiny due to recent revelations about his government’s ties to a murderous organized crime group. But as is his custom, Vučić instead went on the attack, using an opportunity of an interview with friendly media outlet TV Pink to address another subject.

Vučić suggested that a political rival, former Belgrade Mayor Dragan Đilas, was behind the accusations. Vučić then claimed Đilas had illegally stashed his wealth in banks around the world, and predicted that more details would surface shortly.
Six days later, Serbian pro-government newspapers began publishing stories about Đilas’ supposed offshore accounts.
“Đilas hiding money in Mauritius and Switzerland: on 12th of December 2020 he had almost 6.4 million euros in bank accounts in these two countries,” claimed a front-page story in the Serbian pro-government daily Večernje Novosti.
